I graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 2016 achieving a distinction in Masters of Chiropractic and following this I completed my post-graduate certificate in Medical Ultrasound. I have worked at Chiropractic clinics in Torquay, Teignmouth and Paignton since graduating and in October 2020 I achieved my dream of opening my own clinic in Dawlish. This has gradually expanded and we moved to our current premise in September 2022 and renamed the business Coastal Chiropractic and Wellness Centre to accommodate the other therapies we now offer.
I’ve always enjoyed participating in sports, and while growing up I had my own difficulties with knee pain which limited my activities and caused me discomfort. This experience triggered an interest in chiropractic medicine and rehabilitation which led me onto my career path today. Although I have an interest in all musculoskeletal conditions, I am particularly passionate about sport, sport related injuries and functional exercises.
I strongly believe that just because a certain pain has become common for an individual it does not make it normal or that it is something you have to live with. I understand that injuries and pain can be detrimental to daily activities, whether that is how easily you can put your socks on, how much you can lift in the gym, how far you can hit a golf ball or how easily you can do the gardening. It is my belief that chiropractic treatment and if necessary an individually tailored exercise program can keep you doing the activities you enjoy.

Hugh is a registered osteopath, qualified acupuncture and dry needling practitioner, nutritionist and personal trainer with a particular interest in removing musculoskeletal pain and enabling his patients to build sustainable habits that improve their health and longevity.
His interests include rugby, rowing at sea, scuba diving, reading and skiing. Fortunate to have travelled widely including driving across America in a Mustang and a Jeep Cherokee from the UK to Mongolia. He also works as a volunteer for Rock to Recovery (a mental health charity based in Exmouth), offering osteopathy to veterans, and blue light professionals, and their families.
His early career began as a Royal Marines Officer. After a brief stint working in finance he then worked as a personal trainer, specialising in exercise therapy for lower back pain, before gaining his Masters in osteopathy. He lives near Teignmouth with his wife and two young children.
